Youth Leadership Program

Our youth program, Future Leadership Vallejo, launched in 2022. The program was designed by Leadership Vallejo’s Cohort 14 participants to engage Vallejo youth, develop their critical leadership skills, and help them gain a deeper understanding of their community.

Leadership Vallejo educates and trains future leaders. Future Leadership Vallejo (FLV) is a five-month interactive youth leadership development and community education program. This powerful program serves high school sophomores and juniors in Vallejo. FLV provides leadership training to these youth leaders while raising their voices around critical issues in the city. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, youth leaders participate in the program tuition-free (waived tuition fee valued at $750).

Activities include hands-on leadership training, field trips, and active conversations with local Vallejo officials and community leaders.  The 2024 session will be held from February through June, once per month on Saturdays from 9:00AM to 1:00PM, at different locations throughout Vallejo. Students can potentially gain school required community service hours through participation in the program.
